As a resident of Connecticut, a lot of your information is public, making you a target. Data brokers sell your public voter records as well as other public information which contain your name and address, and often your phone number, email, age, and political party.
See the chart to the right to see where your information deletion prospects stand.
As a test, use a verbatim Google query such (in quotes) as "Your Name" followed by your state. It should look like this in the search bar:
"Your Name" CT
Did you find your name, address, phone number, etc.? So can any scammer, stalker, and impersonator.
Furthermore, using your verbatim-searched usernames might show the extent of your exposure when it comes to your digital footprint.
These initial queries should also be re-attempted with alternate spellings, former states you've lived in, and on other popular search engines such as bing.com, duckduckgo.com, yandex.com, and baidu.com.
There are several steps you can take to delete or limit this information. Don't be worried about the "public information that cannot be deleted/limited" section as this is not normally used by malicious actors. It may be daunting but there's not much, if anything, that can be done about that.
